stormy weekend

This weekend has been quite stormy; and not just a little rumble here and there, but frequent cloud-to-ground lightning, loud thunder, and intense rainfall rates. My favorite shot to get is right before the storm hits. That dark gray cloud looming over the horizon. I also love to capture a rain shaft. I have some interesting stories about rain shafts! Here are a few photos from this weekend's storms.

This was taken in my yard on Sunday, May 5th. It poured and poured for about 30 minutes! There wasn't much lightning, but a couple rumbles of thunder here and there. There was a threat for nickel-sized hail which thankfully didn't happen because our cars are outside.

This was Saturday, May 4th. We were driving up the road, and once we got to this storm, the "bottom fell out." The road was ponding and there definitely were areas where someone could hydroplane.

This was also on Saturday, May 4th. I took this right before going inside Sam's Club - these are my favorite shots to capture!!

Thanks for reading my first post on my new blog! I am excited to see where this goes and if you have any advice please let me know! I absolutely love weather and I can't wait to see the next thunderstorm!
